GM Axel code - New guy

Hi, new to this board. Need help with a GM axle code. From the passengers side tube the code is 7 FC 0 136. I haven't had any luck finding a site with this code listed. Any of you have a code list where it is on?? If so, what's it from? Looks like a mid-60's Nova or Camaro 10 bolt, but it's not listed on those sheets.

Otherwise, I'm building a '25 T closed cab pickup, full fendered, 9" body channel. Should be a *****in' rod when done. I've been building rods since I was in high school in the early 70's. Good fun!

Welcome to Hotrodders.com

We are a PG site here. The profanity filter catches most cuss words

If you can post a few pictures of it and get some measurements it would help a lot.

Here's pictures of the axle. It's 60 1/2" Wheel mount to wheel mount - chart indicates this is '68 & newer Nova. Brakes are drum, 9 1/2" X2". Looks to be a 6 cyl rear with 2.73 gears. I'd like to confirm year so I can order brake shoes & wheel cylinders. A light axle is OK for this car as it is being built as a cruiser - high reliability, low chance of overheating, etc. Thanks, Dale

Here's progress pict's of the truck. Spent the weekend widening the box 7" to best fit fenders with the rear axle and to give the truck a lower look. Got most of the welds ground before the Daytona 500

That is a 7.5" 10-bolt rear, identified by the two casting "fangs" at 4:30 and 7:30 positions below the cover face. First introduced in the Vega but commonly used in the '76-78 Nova 6 cylinder cars, '78-up G-body(Monte Carlo, Malibu, Regal, Cutlass, Gran Prix, El Camino), '82-Up F-body(Camaro/Firebird) and the S-10 trucks.

Judging from the width I think you have a '76-78 Nova rear.

It isn't an 8.2" or 8.5" 10-bolt.

That was my guess too. Thanks for the help!

Yea, that's a '76 or later 6 cylinder Nova, Omega, Apolo or Ventura 7.5 10 bolt rear end.
