gm front suspension in a 53 Studebaker

Ive got a 53 Studebaker with a GM front end under it. I dont know what make or year ( Nova,Camero etc) The car handles well enough but I would like to make it better. Before I start I have to find out what make, year suspension I have.
Its a front steering ( tie rods in front of the cross member )
The front end is lowered but I cant tell if the coils were cut or a change in spindles.
I have some measurements that I took. Not real scientific but close...I hope
From the inside front rotor to inside front rotor....52 3/4 in.
Bottom ball joint grease fitting to bottom ball joint grease fitting
is 49 3/4 in.
The front sway bar is 42 3/4 in. from inside the eyelets
Overall sway bar length is 44 3/4
Any help would be appreciated very much

re: gm front suspension in a 53 Studebaker

I think the most accurate way to verify what you have would be to take the casting number off of the spindle and cross reference that number to find out exactly what you have. The most common conversions for what you have are front steer camaro nova, 64-72 A-body and 78-88 G body.
