gm g-body rearend into a-body swap
I have areal tight 10 bolt posi rear from a 1978 monte carlo i want to swap into a 1972 lemans i know ive heard of it being done anyone got info on this swap?

The biggest problem will be the control arms. The G-body and A-body axles have different angles on the arms, so the attach points are different. You can force the axle and suspension arms into place, but the suspension will bind. Aftermarket arms with metal spherical rod ends solve the binding problem. Then you only have to deal with the fact that the G-body axle is about 3" narrower than the A-body and the fact that an original 78 Monte axle is the POS 7.5" ring gear that will frag as soon as you put any power to it.
