GM Generation V Small-Block

Saw the news on Facebook today that GM will be releasing a new small block Chevy engine, dubbed Generation V.

Is Chevy catching up to the times? Or entering the future?

Direct injection was introduced in the Outboard industry by Mercury racing years ago. It changed everything. 300hp 3.0l outboard with better fuel consumption by half of a 200hp engine was instant.

This will be a game changer for sure.

100 million SBC's. Mind blowing.

Mercury has contributed greatly to the SBC performance, best thing that Chevy ever did as far as development goes.

I wonder if the fact that these direct-injected engine can't be carbureted will put off any swappers? LS swaps seem simple enough in older vehicles. I wonder how it would be with this new design?
