Post GM ID Numbers

Trying to ID some drive train parts in a 29 Ford Streetrod I picked up. It's an all GM drive train, and I would like to find out what year etc. the block,heads,trany and diff. are out of.If anyone knows of a link or book where this info is avail.,I would appreciate it.
