GM ignition wiring

I have a GM steering column with keyed ignition, tilt and hi/low beam switch on the column (believed to be out of an 86 Corvette or Camaro). At the base of the column before it goes through the floor there is what looks like a square metal box with lugs inside. This is attached to the column. Is this the connection point for the battery feed to the igniton switch and accessory power?

cheers

from your photos it appears to be the ignition switch (I've not had much experience with columns which come with keyed ignition). The terminals appear somewhat different. My plug (which is from a Painless Wiring kit from long ago) consists of 2 connectors; a black connector with a red (battery feed?) wire and an orange (accessory feed?) wire and a clear connector with a red (battery feed?) wire (joined together with the other red wire), a pink (ign feed?) wire and a purple (neutral safety switch) wire. Although the wires in the connectors may need to be switched around the match the ignition switch, can you tell me if the orange wire is the accessory feed to the panel and if the pink wire is the ignition feed to the panel. The orange wire appears the be 10 ga while the pink appears to be 12 ga.
