I own a 1966 Chevelle but the rear end is out of a 1966 Buick Skylark GS. I need to replace both axles but I didn't know if the rear is a 8.2" or an 8.5". What is the easiest way ti be sure? I want to order the parts but I want to make sure they will fit.

BUICK DID MAKE A POSI REAREND. it was a cone type posi and it was used in B.O.P. intermediates, it was a real pain in the a** and wasn't very durable, any kind of abuse and it would go to hell on you very expensive piece even back in the sixties. chevy used their own rear and the 10 bolt cover is different. been there- done that- got the cap and the t-shirt. and a lot of experiance on my back under a ten bolt.
