Morel has a .904 hyd lifter they just came out with that being said the Dart SHP PRO block would be a good choice with the BBC cam tunnel, 4 bolt billet caps from front to rear and its about 330.00 more then the std. SHP block.

i figured i would update this i ended up buying a tall deck iron eagle block , with the bbc cam tunnel,
i did purchase 4 inch stroke crank but was able to sent it back in for the 3.875 stroke crank.im going with the 427ci build instead 3.875 x 4.185 with a 6 inch rod i havent decided on a piston yet as i can get the afr 245s with a 70 or 80cc chamber and im waiting to hear back from some ppl running the 245 heads with the different chambers to see if i should get the 70 or 80's other then that i need to come up with a cam and then ill be able to start assembling it im going to run a pair of 70 or 76mm turbos on this engine should be able to make 1400/1,500 hp pretty damn easily |

On your build I would go to a .904 lifter to reduce the pressure angle of the lifter. With the tall deck I would have gone with the DRCE-3 oiling at no charge and gone to a 55MM cam which makes for a much better profile, You can't get a big enough base circle cam LOL. |

as much as i hate to im going to go low on the compression at around 8.2-8.5-1 since this engine will see alot more boost then i would normally run i.e around 30 psi . if e85 was more redilly available in my area i would deff go for 9.5-1 cr typically on my street strip suff i built before i set up the engines with a min of 9.0-1 cr and a max of around 9.7-1 the ls stuff is still pretty expsensive more so then the gen 1 stuff when u start getting into hardcore racing parts , im going to make my venture into the lsx series of engines soon though im thinkng about buying a 4.8 or 5.3 and slapping a 76 or 88 mm turbo on it in an s10 pickup |

is this a no brainer on a complet carb to pan deal on a GM rocket motor?
today I was picking up some camaro parts from an old racer that had retired and is down to his last few pieces and on his engine stand he had a built 415ci rocket block motor with the dyno sheet showing over 440hp and 500ft pounds of torque, he had all the receipts ,dyno sheet, carb to pan, etc, he said all I had to do was drop it in and set the timing, it was built as a cheater motor with a custom cast iron intake made, chevy bowtie heads, and he claimed that if I changed intake and used headers instead of manifolds like he did it would be a 40 to 60 hp gain, he also said it had 9.5 compression so it ran on pump gas , he had $13k into it and it said he had it in a street legal car and it hardly had 1k miles on it, he told me $4000 takes it, my question is installed on a dyno or running, what kind of value is it worth? I am kinda new to all this top notch race stuff, is it a good deal, decent deal? any help is greatly appreciated
