GM si 10 alternator fits.

I just hooked up a single wire 10 si alternator to my 77 camino after trying several 3 wire 10 si's several different wiring attempts. I thought the single wire would just fire up as described. Hooked one 10g wire from bat terminal to positive battery lead. Any ideas or suggestions?

I should clarify. I hooked up a voltmeter and there is no charge. (12.3 volts) and decreases in voltage with lights, fan etc. The battery should be good. Any ideas?

Sounds like you wired it correctly.

What make you think it's not working?

Are you sure the battery is good?

You should have 12 volts with engine stopped.

You should have 13.8 volts or slightly more with engine running. Turn on some loads - lights, heater fan etc. The voltage should stay at 13.8.

Doc here,

So....What is exactly the problem?

No output?
Low Output?

Without a complaint, It's not possible to give you answer or area to investigate...
