I'm installing a EZ2 wire harness in a Toyota Landcruiser and the harness comes ready to go for a GM ignition switch and headlight switch

What would be a good year/model to get an ingnition switch and headlight switch?

The ignition switch has to be a dash mount switch, i can't put it in the column.

Your not going to find a dash ignition switch without going all the way back to the mid ~ 60's...I don't think the plugs are the same..Best shot there is take the plug to a bone yard and try it on a few switches..OR convert the plug wiring over to the Land Cruiser switch..

As far as headlamps..pretty much universal electrically..what fits..fits..I think your going to have an easier time finding this than the Ignition on the dash.

You might Give EZ a call they may carry a solution switch for that harness for dash mount.

I used a 75ish HL switch in the 59-------Park lamps on with headlights
The HL switches from the 60's turn the park lamps off with headlights on

Ignition---I used a 63-64 switch----gave me the acc. position, not available before then. Also looks like a 59 switch---no key is needed if not in LOCK pos.

65-68-ignition--does not have the "knob" to turn switch without key. Key can still be removed with the engine running.

69-went to column lock

The harness connector on the kit I used, looks like it would snap on and lock to a 66-67 Chev switch. Plugged onto the 63-64 switch but cannot lock on.

All of these are available thru NAPA, I think they also come with the lock cyl.

The Chevy ignition had ACC all the way back to 1956..on standard P~210's at least with heater , radio and the like..

BE sure to check the Socket footprint Vs whatever switches you select..

It's a good thing to have hot park lamps in headlight..now~a~days..so I'd stay above the cutoff year IF it matches your socket..

I just know that 59-60 cars had----Lock-Off-On-Start
Not sure about the 61-62
63-64 was the first switch that I found that I could get the Switch/Cyl/Bezel for, and add the Acc. feature.
Asthestics were kind of important on the 59--had to 'appear' that it belonged there.

Classic Industries (and others) have some bezels
Be a good idea to see which switches and bezels are both available.
The bezel is needed to retain the switch in the dash & the threads on the switches/bezels may change from year to year.
(59-60 are different than 63-64)

Here is an Old Showroom Add for the 1956 Chevy : The Caption reads : 210-4door sedan..The "P" was designation for Passenger..

This is the wire diagram for a 1957, 150, 210, and Belair, Sorry for the crummy photo they don't copy that well anymore....but on the bottom row of switches , just above the lights there, It shows the ignition switch about 3 inches in from the right..The Terminal at about 1 O'Clock is clearly marked "ACC"

Now If you needed a special combination or Bezel and tumbler to gain use of the ACC position I could not tell you..But Electrically it is shown on the switch as a function. Probably Dependant on options selected..(Spot lights, heater, Radio, record player )
