i have a th350 transmission that will not rverse even when i put it in neutral it will still not reverse when i push it. the drive works find. i took off the pan and the fluid was strawberry milk color. i put a post on yahoo answers and some one told me to change the filter. i would apprecate some help. please and thank you.

I had a similar problem with reverse on a th350 with only 200 miles on it but my problem went a little further and would not shift into third either. I took the the filter out and had fine metal and brass in the filter, after this indicator we pulled the tranny. A lot wrong missing a seal on the front pump, alignment not set up properly. Start with the filter for fine metal, and make sure your using proper transmission fluid, not motor oil it will gum up if so. How many miles on this transmission and has it been abused on the street?

i trade a guy my th400 long tail for this th 350 short tail so im not sure of any thing. but when i took the pan off it had like sluge that looked like worms comming out of the filter.so im going to replace the filter and maby take the valve body off and see if its gumed up. letme know if this is what i should do.

and also is there a certain type of fluid it uses. i heard it uses type F
