I installed an MSD 6AL box in my 68 Z28 by following the instructions from the MSD web site and my factory tach works perfectly. There are numerous wiring diagrams published on their web site .... one of which you can likely use.

I have asked the MSD techs questions through their 'Forums' and they are very good providing an answer in a timely manner. You could also pick up the phone, call them and get an immediate answer. Good luck.

If there's a filter somewhere inline in the wire going to the coil from the tach, disconnect it, and connect the wire that goes back to the coil to the MSD "TACH" terminal.
