GM truck brake differences '01 to 03

I'm considering using GM truck brakes on a '37 Buick. Consumer reports shows a marked improvement on reliability of the brakes on all full size GM trucks and SUVs between '01 and '03. Does anyone know what changes were made to the brakes systems? It could be rotors, pads, calipers, master cyl or ????
Thanks

'03 was the first year of the second generation 'NBS' trucks. '03 I think the rear disc brakes were standard, but, not really much diffrent

That was my first thought, but consumer reports & wiki say the new model change was: '99 for the Silverarado/Sierra, '00 for Subuarban/Yukon XL & Tahoe/Yukon. The brakes seem to improve in '02 & '03.
Thanks

Yes, 1st generation NBS started in late 1999 and went until 2002. Drive by wire and a few other things were implimented in 2003 with the second generation NBS. rear Disc brakes had become standard in '03 IIRC, but it didn't last... They are not great brakes by any means, better than the OBS trucks with Kelsey hayes RWABS and spongy brake pedals
