gmc 292 problem pops out of carb when set at any timing no .power

well they say to set it at 8 BTDC still no power pop real bad out of carb .i can get some power back when timing is way way after BTDC any help

should work ok at 12,check to make sure timing is advancing and all plugs are firing correctly.You can use the timing light if its inductive

where it set now it after top dead not even on the timing tab if i got closer to that tab pops out of carb when driving it

Ayuh, there's always the possibility that the poppin' through the carb is from a Lean condition, not related to the ignition timin',...

Have ya checked, 'n changed the fuel filters,..??
Is the carb gettin' good fuel,..??
Is the carb Clean, internally speakin',..??

It ain't goona have any power, if it's starvin' for fuel,....

carb is Clean still the same

Do some simple diagnostics to help you find the problem.
1. Plug a vacuum gauge into a manifold vacuum source and read the results. See this youtube tutorial....
2. Bring the motor up to operating temp, remove all spark plugs, disable the hot wire from the coil, wire the carburetor butterflies wide open and perform a cranking compression test. See this youtube tutorial....
