GMC 87 crew cab body swap

Has anyone done a body swap on a 1987 crew cab and how difficult is it ? I have a chance to build one complete truck out of two and wanted some input. Thanks for your time

Do you have any suggestions on how to swap the cab with out
the use of a forklift. I dont know how heavy the crew cab is but im sure it weighs a bunch. How many people does it take to lift the cab off and move. Ive never tried it before

I would suggest building an A-Frame to support the cab while you roll the truck frame out from under it. The A-Frame wouldn't have to be real high if you remove the bed first. I would suppose it would take alot of friends to lift that cab. It took four big guys to lift and move the cab on my Dad's F-100 standard cab.You never know when a well built A-Frame will come in handy.I use mine all the time.
Good Luck!

Put a floor jack under each corner, raise it up, remove rear wheels, let frame down at the rear still on a floor jack.roll out frontwards very careful. U may have to remove the rear end to clear the jacks. You could lift from the top, but i`ve seen things get bent that way. hth. Good Luck.
