GMC stumble/hesitation..please help

ok fellers need help once again...thank goodness for this site

anywho we have a 89 GMC 1500 flatbed at work and we can't get it to stop hesitating during acceleration, sometimes it'll do it just cruisin down the road. but if i hit the gas a couple times and floor it it will eventually let up then take off like a rocket

we thaught maybe the catlytic converver might be going bad so we sent to the shop and had a new exhaust put on from the front of the cat. back and the stuburn thing still did it. so Monday we put a fresh tune up on it {plugs, wires, cap, and rotor button} and we also put a new o2 sensor on it. it did good till tonite (weds.) and it started it's crap again and i'm about out of ideas

think the coil might be on it's way out?? if so why would it run fine for 2 and half days then start it's crap again?

it's an 89 GMC 1500 350 TBI. anybody with some other ideas would help

thanx, J

Check the throttle position sensor there may be a bad spot.
This can cause computer to get reading that throttle is at idle position when its really not.

have u checked fuel pressure or the fuel filter? pretty critical with a fuel injected engine. ur going to be looking for 12-18 lbs of fuel pressure...
if the fuel pressure is ok and the filter is clean, a tps could be a possible cause... a good scan tool from a repair shop can check the data flow from the ecm and can check the tps for fluctuations... does it idle ok? another sign of a possible tps is a fluctuating idle.. gl
