I can's stand it when they use "furiner" instead of "feriner."

Sorry Poncho, I couldn't resist.

I don't mind a little slang like tranny, but FITMENT is a word and that word is a noun and it is a piece of furniture!

I am sorry guys you are jumping all around and missing the point. This thread is about FITMENT! DON'T GET OFF TRACK.

Fitment?

There are a whole bunch of things that REALLY bug me when I see them. Breaks/brakes. "I could care less" (meaning I do care - if the subject was even less important to me, then I actually COULD care even less about it!) "Irregardless" - once upon a time I had a boss who went ballistic on that - and did it in such a way that it was hilarious - so I began to do things "irregardlessly" of the outcomes! - that was a hoot!

Presently - it actually means "soon". "Currently" means now. "He is currently on the phone, but he will call you back presently" is the proper use.

Hear/here. Their, there, they're. Right/write.

But the one that really sets me off is the use of the apostrophe. Believe it or not, it is NOT needed anytime a words ends in "s". If another guy talks about his "car's", I may lose it! (Unless he is referring to his car's tires or something that actually IS possessive case)

This ranks right up there with a stroll through any store, and seeing the signs above a product, and the sign is spelled wrong! For the love of.....
The correct spelling is right there on the stack of product! Did you go to some special school to teach you how to screw that up?

When I was 16 and just getting into cars, I was at the wreckers with my friend who was already pretty mechanically inclined. In my sentence I was going to say "transmission" but after having already started to say the word, my brain decided to use the slang word "tranny" I had recently learned. It was too late. I said, "transy". My friend had a good laugh.

There's one word we're glad never made it to the mainstream. Yeesh that was embarassing.

BTW Deadbodyman, good one!
