Is it going to hurt me?

so heres the story. I bought this 2 door 80impala to "begin" with. im taking body classes and im really into it. long story on the imp but i bought it from a friend cause its a good canvas to learn body type stuff anyways i blew the tired buick 350 that had replaced the 4.3 it originally came with( oh yeah i ran the #s off the intake and the 350 someone put in was older than the car all stock and BUICK) so i bye this engine off my uncle hes had sittin for 20 years or so that he says he has over 2g into bottom end and yayaya. well i talked to the guy im having build the engine today he tore it down and come to find out my uncle didnt lie itsa 355 witha cam that calls for 3000 stall. my problem is that ive been around fast cars all my life i love em but the fastest car ive driven is the 05 bonneville gxp i drive now. its got the northstar front wheel drive like 240 hp. reminds me of 90s sts i call it the pontilac but its NOT FAST! my friends think so but i know better!! this impala is gonna be my daily driver im kinda trying to figure out what im getting myself into!!!
77 four bolt 350 .30 over
forged pstons
302H cam i think
vortech heads
air gap intake at
built 700r4
recommended stall
stock rearend for a while
the closer the car gets to be being done or running i should say the more nervous i get! im 22 young to die! haha

I'm thinking you want to find a cam with about 25 degrees shorter duration. A 305 duration cam is going to have a lot of lift and you'll have to make sure those Vortecs are adequately modified to allow that much lift. If you want a big cam look for something around 280 duration. Still big but not insanely, stupidly big.
