Good combo

I'm putting together an engine for my friend and would like to know if this is a good combo. It will mostly see strip action and a few weekend cruises.
Lunati voodoo dur-284/294 dur @.050-241/249 lift-.525/.546 lsa-110
victor Jr intake 1" taller
approx. 10.5cr with 11cc dome and 74cc heads
afr 195cc competition heads
comp cams pro magnum rockers(1.5)
i would like to know if it should have a 700 cfm double pumper or a 670 street avenger carb.
it is open to changes as i have not bought any parts yet.
it will have 3.73's 27" tire and a 3500 converter the car weighs approx. 2900
i would also like to know how much hp/tq this would make.
sorry its such a long post.

you'll be about 425 to 450 horse and be turning well into the 12's.

If you built a motor with a few more cubes you wouldn't have to turn it so hard. That 350 is going to be shifting about 6700RPM which is going to require some attention to detail in the form of $$.

good combo

my friend doesnt even know what size engine it is. he said alll he remembers is the man said it was bored out and i took a guess and said it was a 350. but would that combo work well with a 383 or a 400 cuz if the engine is too worn he said he'll just get a new block.

My guess is that you will be somewhere in the 450-500 hp range. That power in a 2900 lb car should pretty easily put you in the 11's. Here is an article from the AFR website with a motor very similar to yours. The main difference is that in the article they use a mech roller cam but it is about the same size as the cam you are looking at. I am not positive, but I think they used street ported heads in the article whereas you are using comp package.

what carb

so should this combo have a 650, 700, 750, or an 850 cfm? My friend said he would like to run mechanical secondaries on a Holley or Barry grant carb.

1969NovaSS,

On your combination we'd recommend using a 650 Mighty Demon carburetor P/N 5282010GC. Depending on how the assembly goes you should be about 460 to 480 HP and about 430 FT/LBs
