good motor for drag racing?

I just bought a 60' ford f-100 with a 292 i am trying to figure out what i wanna do with it, i know i wanna make a drag racing truck and so does my friend. We might put the Ranger body on the
f-100 frame and stuff. I was wondering what motor would be good for drag racing? Would it be stupid to put a chevy or dodge motor in a ford truck frame and a ranger body? Any Help will be greatfully thanked.

The Y can be made to scream, and looks great too. Bullet proof bottom end. Yeah a 454 makes more power, but check out this link before you decide. He has lots of Hi-Po stuff for Y blocks.
