good oil PSI but very little oil in valvetrain

I noticed a rattling sound under the valvecovers and pulled the valve cover and checked the rockers for slack and all were good. I crank the engine with the valve cover off and watched the rockers to see if I could hear a lifter or a rocker rattling and noticed there was very little oil running out of the rockers. heads werent really even full of oil. I am running around 30 psi at 500 rpm. when I rev it up some squrts some out but it should spray the whole area under the hood.
I Have a 350 from a 98 chevy with roller cam and roller rockers. I even pulled the pushrods to see if they were stopped up. New lifters. Also have a vibration in the engine around 2,500 rpm. Not a ignition problem. no loss of power. Any possibilities? need help thanks

Slimpikins,

My first thought is that the lifters have gone bad and will not hold oil. Did you do anything to the engine?

Slimpikins,

Ok, then I would check the oil galley plugs at the front of the engine just behind the cam gear. One of them might be leaking or missing. I think it is leaking because you do have good oil pressure.

Good Luck

I know this is an old thread but I was wondering why valve lash was affecting the amount of oil that the rocker arms recieved. If I try to set the rockers at 1/2 turn past zero lash they wont oil worth a flip. The only way I could get them to oil partially properly was to back my lash to about 1/8 a turn from zero lash. This boosts low end torque and vaccume but I lost my sound and high rpm performance.
