Good Place to get a Trans Built?
 

First off I am looking to get my 700r4 built because I would like to keep my over drive. Is this a good idea are 700r4s good for high HP/TQ builds?
But I am looking for a good place where I can send my trans in as a core and get a fully built one back for a good price.
Can any one help with this?

Do it yourself, these transmissions are easy to do if you have any mechanical ability. but if you want a built one

Also what make a TH 400 better for performance applications? It seems like more people recomend those or a TH 350?

The TH400 was GM's heavy duty transmission. It was usually behind a big block. The TH400 consumes a little more HP than a TH350 and is a little heavier.

Along with what Vince said, the 700r4 at first wasn't very trust worthy, it still has problems if not built some, but now through
extensive testing by the aftermarket has developed a strong trans with the benefit of overdrive, a better trans for the street.

Rossler Transmissions Inc. in Girard, Ohio. About 200 miles east of you. They do transmixers from the station wagon up to the 200mph drag car. Carl Rossler is the owner still, I think.
