Good price for L98 Vette motor?

Is $1500 for a 91 L98 with 700R4 with 70K miles out of Vette a good price? It doesn't come with computer or harness, but has all front accessories. Don't know yet if it's aluminum headed. I had my mind made up for a LT1 or LS1, but this just came up for sale. It'll go in my 57 Chevy. Comments, inputs.

It sounds like a good deal. But the motor and trans are 13 years old and you don't know how well it was taken care of. You'll only want to do this once, I would go with the LS1, since it's the most modern.

1500 is pretty high price for that motor.
70k it shouldn't cost more than 1200 on the high side.

LS1's are awesome, but I would suggest the LT1 because there are more aftermarket parts available, there won't be alot for the LS1 for awhile!

Seems high to me....we sell L98s for $800...and that is with all ACC. and wiring harness......good 700s for 'bout....$300......
I'd do the $1500....,but it had better be very...very nice....
