good ways to screw with the Autozone guy
what are some good non-existing auto parts that can be used on the autozone guy? (i.e. Mazda RX7 headgasket)

Water pump...or radiator cap for a VW Beetle.

carburetor belt. can't find one anywhere. i once went into a shop and asked for lithium based bowling ball grease and the guy actually looked for it and when he came up empty said it might be on the shipping truck. honest! kinda mean but i knew him. how about those hard to find sparkplugs for my dad's diesel?

An exhaust pipe stretcher is always a handy tool.

They never made an 83' vette?

RetroJoe 02-11-2004 01:32 AM

Nope, that was the year they skipped to put out that lovely 84' with the new design. Maybe they should have skipped 84' as well!:P

a battery filter....keeps the bad voltage out of your car

Not with the autozone guy's (I will not go there unless they are the only ones open) but when I was in the Navy we once sent a new kid to supply for 100 feet of chow line and a box of radio waves keep him going a whole afternoon.

spark plugs for a diesel

k2mooch 02-11-2004 08:15 AM

Come on guys, they have a hard enough time finding the stuff we really need. I asked the guy for a top radiator hose for a '69 Mustang with a 351W, he came back with the bottom one. I told him it was the bottom one and he told me there was no such thing as a top and bottom radiator hose, it's just one hose for that car.

I wonder how quickly HE goes through coolant with no return.

Take your car to Pep Boys and have them bring the car in to the bay to put fresh air in the tires. Tell them you change the air every 3000 miles. Then ask how often they change their air.

Flux Capacitor for an 83 Delorian is a hard to find part

as well as a Turbo Cabrolator for an 85 Buick Regal

Busted Knuckles 02-11-2004 01:12 PM

Square drill bit (to drill square holes), metric grease (for my metric grease fittings).
In the Air Force, it's gallon of propwash, three yards of flight line, left handed crescent wrench...
