I have been there every year since it has been here. I plan my whole year around that weekend! I also used to go to the GoodGuys Indy show before it came to Columbus....Not nearly as big as the Columbus Show and not nearly as fun.
Honestly after you go there on one day then you will want to make a whole weekend out of it. My weekend starts Friday morning at 5am and ends Sunday night at about 10pm.
There are several of us on the board that always go to the show every year, maybe you will run into one of us there.
Which btw, If anyone else is planning on going this year, maybe we can all meet up for lunch on one of the days.
Later,
WEIMER

HEY 36:

It is a good show, have been going for years. There is also another show in Columbus ( Worthington ) at the same time. If you miss Columbus try NSRA Nationals in Louisville. THERESA

When we go to GoodGuys we hit 3 shows in 1 day. We go to Goodguys first(they let out at 6pm) then we head over to Quaker Steak and Lube on Polaris Pkwy for dinner and another cruise-in. Then after we eat we head over to Dublin Metro Park for the last cruise-in of the night. There is usually about 100 cars coming and going at Quaker Steak at any given time. And there is about 400 - 500 cars at the Metro Park. Friday is the best day for the show in my opinion because we start at about 5am and head to Plain City for breakfast then to the GG show, then QS&L for dinner and more cars, then to the Park for even more cars!
On Fridays there are most all of the cars there, without all of the spectators, so you can walk and enjoy your open space. On Saturdays, it is PACKED with spectators and a little more cars, but they have the Pros Pick areas setup. On Sunday the awards are handed out, so we usually go back to watch that also.
OH MAN!!!! I can't wait now! See what you got started...and I still have 5 1/2 months to wait.

BTW, I noticed that you live in NY...Do you hit the Rhinebeck show in the late summer?

WEIMER

The GoodGuys show is OK if your interested in "general" hot rods. They usually have around 7000 - 8000 cars up to '72 show up. If you're into the earlier stuff (pre - 1949 Street Rods) then the NSRA Nationals in Louisville would be a better choice. They usually have between 11,000 and 13,000 cars show up. It's the largest street rod event in the world.

I agree, i like Louisville ALOT better than Columbus, but Street Rods or more of my thing that the 50s 60s and 70s cars.
