One problem also with these reproduction hoods is the metal is thinner or not as strong and the hinge springs are too strong. When closing the hood the darn thing bends!

You can bend that hood to make it fit better but the hood springs may need to be replaced or removed to KEEP it that shape. But bending it so it fits is no big deal.
