Google street view

I was poking around and pulled up the Google page then went into Maps then into Street View. I have to say - there is no privacy any longer. While my street and house isn't shown yet, one street away is - there in a full living color scene. Houses are fully recognizable as are street numbers. Cars in a couple of 'scenes' I pulled up had license plates that could be read and people, while a bit fuzzy, can be recognized.

You have to know that you are being watched by someone (government) you don't want poking into your business.

Shades of George Orwell's '1984'. Big brother is watching you for sure!!

So that's where I left my space ship parked. Can you send that back to me, Rob? I knew I left it hovering somewhere.

Kind of scary isn't it? On the satellite image of our place I can tell which car is parked where but only because I know what I'm looking for. I guess we're too rural for them to have really good images. Sort of makes you wonder, if these images are available to the general public, what kind of images the government has access to. I've heard them deny that they have satellite images clear enough for them to locate an individual person with but I'm not buying it. Are you?

This doesn't seem the same as Google earth, i can get a much closer view on that then this. You can see my Jag parked out front in that, how much property i have, everything. They even have a live google earth but you have to pay for that. Now that is a lot scarier than just a picture.

They have special vehicles that go around and film or tape for Google Street. If you do a search and maybe I also read it in Wikipedia, it explains how they do it. It also list a lawsuit or two against them for invasion of privacy. Then it goes on to say that if you feel that your privacy is being violated that you can request to have any photos removed. It will be just a matter of a few short years though that Google Earth will have just as much horizontal as it does showing vertical.

Why do you think we haven't seen Usama bin Laden in 5 years? He is dead !!! It doesn't make any differnce how many times there is a purported message from him - it's propaganda, and from both sides. Recall that Predator spy plane that "just happened" to catch a tall dude in a white robe taking a whizzz alongside the road and that the forensics folks went to pick up DNA evidence, and then you never heard another word. The military version of Google Street view got him!!!

OK so most of us agree that the Goooberment can & does more than they tell .

What Pisses me off is when the DC sniper was shooting people why could they not find him?

You know there has to be memory hooked up to all that "spy ware".

The Dream Police will be next.

Talk about skeletons in the closet.
