Got the base down, slight orange peel, what to do before clear?

I've got the base down on my 56. The base is actually a SS made by Kirker. I plan on clearing it for added gloss and durability.

I've got slight orange peel in the base. If I clear it, then cut and buff the clear, will the orange peel show through?

Since half of it is a solid red, I could easily block it down flat, but the other half is metallic so if I go sanding on it, I'll have to reshoot to get the metallic particles evened out.

what would ya'll suggest?

Thanks,
Shad

Isn't it a moot question?
Since it'e SS urethane, wont you have to sand it down with #600-#1000 before shooting on the clear?

So will the orange peel show through if I clear over it, then cut and buff the clear?
