got a drag car

I haven't been on this site in a few weeks but I figured I would tell you guys about my new car. It is a 1965 A code mustang coupe. It has a camaro clip with a 355sbc lt1 heads, big cam, weind intake looks like a victor junior style witha big dual line holley. It has a glide with 3500 stall and a 9 inch rear with 3.73 gears and a spool. It has 26x11.50x16 et streets and it'll light them up with no problem. The guy I got it from rode me around in it and it was definately the fastest car I have rode in, it scared me to be honest. The best pass was a 7.55 in the 1/8. We got it for $2200 with a new 16 foot car trailer. I haven't got to race it yet because college is starting and I'm broke and race gas is $9 a gallon

Ouch! I only pay $7.50 a gallon for 116, and I'm in Alaska. I guess that there is no use trying to talk you into getting rid of the chebby, and putting a real engine in that Ford.

Sounds cool, that's mid 11's in the quarter mile, but why would somebody put a Camaro clip and an SBC in a nice 65 Mustang?? Sacrilege!! Really killed his resale value, probably why you got a smoking deal on it. Put a Mustang II front clip and a stroker SBF in it and its a $10,000+ car.

I believe 110 is $8 and 112 is $9 at the track. The reason I got it cheap was the seller was in major debt. His house payments were $1800 a month, 2 new cars 3 kids and lord knows what else. When we left with it I believe he was about to cry

Are you guys kidding me, that is the best thing that can happen to a Ford . Back in high school my buddy had a pristine 2 door 61 Falcon six three speed. It was stolen and recovered a few months later in Houston. It had a straight axle under it and had 365hp 327 with a muncie four speed and a 9" Ford rear axle. We had a ball with that car.

I don't understand the Camaro clip. But I do understand the sbc..

A while back I helped a friend put a pinto front end and a sbc into his 65..The pinto front end fit very nicely in it..

I guess they just had a camaro clip. The car is yellow with a primer front clip. It looks good from a distance. Up close you can see where the paint is bubbling. I believe this car was built at least 8-10 years ago before they were worth much. When one of my friends come by I will get them to take a pic of it
