Got new 350 tranny, how to check it out?
It cost me 80 bucks, it has no torque converter and it leaked fluid all over my leg when I moved it out of my truck to the garage..... seems there is a big hole where the dip stick goes, and two others for the tranny cooler.... I guess.
How can I know if this thing actually works? Thanks and Hello Tom, (the only other guy with a 39 Pontiac coupe on this bbs) R PS I don't want to put it in and try to drive away... I'd like to check it first... if it's dead, then I'll go buy a working 700r4. If it works, then I can either put it in and drive for a while, or sell it and use the bucks to buy the OD jobber a? Or buy the wife a hat? (just kidding) (Wife already has a hat.) |

Unless someone in your area has a tranny dyno the only other option short of installing it is to take it to a trans shop and have them pull it apart. That'll cost you money that you could be putting into a 700R4. I think you realize this but that TH350 is really not the way to go. A 700r4 gets you so much more for your buck that TH350's are pretty much a throwaway trans anymore.
