I got that drilled into me at an early age. My Uncle is a retired Sergent on LMPD. Always told me,be polite, keep all your ducks in a row,oh yeah, and do not ever mention my name. Saying you know a cop is not a good start. He helped me out on a few things AFTER the ticket was issued, not as far as getting me off, just in getting it squared away in a quick manner. Always paid my tickets, never asked for any special favors. If I am guilty, then I accept it.I have learned alot over the years about having a car that is capable and attention getting just by starting it up.Plus,I like my insurance rates as low as possible. Another thing to think about,if you drive a company vehicle, your driving records reflect on companies insurance policy even if you are ticketed in your own vehicle on your own time.Insurance companies are looking for ways to make money by jacking up premiums all the time.If I would have got a ticket tonight,I signed a piece of paper when I started my job, that states if I get a ticket,it must be reported within 48 hours. It does not matter if you are convicted or not.
