I just installed a transgo shift recal kit on my th350 and I am pleased with the results, however I would like the shifts to be even more crisp. I put the trans kit in after I installed a 3000 stall. My question is, how difficult would it be to recalibrate the govener? I would have to buy the B & M or tci kit. Could anybody explain how to do this? Are there any pros or cons to this modification....

I am using an adjustable b & m modulator and yes, it is attached to a vac manifold port from a holley carb. I have not adjusted the modulator yet, I am not sure which way to adjust it for quicker shifts....

this might help you out. http://www.dragracingonline.com/technical/vi_9-bm-1.html
when i did mine i just disassembled it and ground the weights down smaller. almost an 1/8 inch on each side of the weights. it will shift at 5200 rpm now. cheaper than buying the kit. but the kit has more, i think the lightest weights in the kit will make it shift at 6100 rpm.
I second that. It seems more and more like instructions for adjustments never make it in the box anymore. Same thing with adjustable vacuum advance cans for a distributor. :smash:
When you put the kit in the trans did it supply new gov springs? If so you may wan't to put the old ones back in.
