Graphics Contest
OK, you guys see them all the time. A contest for this, or that. Well, I will be undertaking a new project.
An 81 Monte Carlo Drag car. I will be documenting it in the Project Journal. I MAY even create another screen name, so it has its own. Basically from start to finish. What I am looking for, is some talented individual to put together a paint scheme. I will then match the car to the best looking scheme, and put your name on the car. Not a whole lot of remuneration, BUT you get credit for your work, both in the Project Log, and in real life. And most important ---BRAGGING RIGHTS ON THIS FORUM! I will be picking the car up in the next few weeks, but its just a stock Monte Carlo. I will be tubbing, back halfing the car, completely stripping the interior and any additional weight I can. If you were wondering tire size, It will be a 30" tall rear tire- 15" wheels front and rear. The motor will be a strip only 489 big block chevy. I anticpate running high 9's to low 10's. The game is on! |

I am partial to the 70's style race cars. Think of "Grumpy's Toy", but with color and graphics. Stickers will be used for contingency sponsors on the lower section of the front fenders and doors.
No color preferences at all. Just want to minimize the use of black, because it doesn't photograph well. OK as an accent though. |

Oh, don't get me wrong...I love black and dark blue cars. Unfortunately, they don't take great pictures. They get lost in the black track, if you know what I mean. And the scheme should be something I can paint. Wakbordrs is easy enough to replicate. Just no real flames (Awesome, but I couldn't aint that) or hi end custom graphics. Although, I'd like to see them....I just don't have that talent. |

My original concept was to paint the car white, then pick a low point behind the front wheel with alternating red/blue stripes starting at nothing, getting to about 1.5" high at the back, going over the trunk lid. Maybe even through some white stars into the stripes...
A little retro, a little patriotism, a little bold... |
