Chuck how far are you from Sand Point (Idaho, I think) Just between Sand Point, and Bonners Ferry there is a guy who has Hundreds of pre 60's projects for sale. Can't possibly miss the yard, its packed with cool stuff, we go down every year to find parts for our stuff.

It was a common practice throughout the Western USA to use old car bodies, chassis for rip-rap on creek, river banks to impede erosion. I've seen this in Louisiana, Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Iowa,
Idaho, Montana, and other states. Many mine shafts in the mining areas were filled with car bodies and frames as a safety measure. Car frames were also used as snow fences throughout Colorado and other states where snowfalls are a problem.
The frame under my brothers 32 came from a New Mexico mineshaft and I still have a 40 frame from a Colorado snow fence.
I have friends in OK who regularly cruise the back roads checking out these back water places. They've found some great stuff.
