Greetings from New Mexico

Hi everybody, I just joined this forum and am really happy that I found it. I am from Las Cruces, New Mexico and the proud owner of a 1949 Plymouth Super Deluxe Sedan. I joined primarily because I will be working on this car, as well as others, and I hope to learn from all of you more experienced wrenches.

A little history on this car:

It was my dad's first car. He purchased it from the original owner in 1967 for about 60 bucks and he drove it all over the state, and even Mexico until the early nineties when he parked it. After all these years he passed it down to me since I like to work on cars, and here we are.

I would like to go the rat rod route with this project, although I'm still considering a resto mod. I'd like to learn about the flat head six in it, and ways to squeeze out some HP's out of it and make is sound decent. Also, if there are any ways to convert to floor shift, perhaps with a newer tranny, while keeping the motor.

Any help from anybody will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks to all.
