It can't be that hard to do. Several years ago, there was one running around here with an alcohol injected BBC in it. Absolutely the one of the nastiest cars I've seen in a while. I fell in love instantly!!!

Your best bet on finding one is in the wrecking yards. The 70 360 is the best find. It has 10:1 comp. 2:02 int 1:68 exh. and the good flowing dog leg exhaust port heads and 4 bbl intakes. As far as what went into the gremlin's, there was a dealer in Phoenix that put 401's in some gremlins only with automatic's for only 500 bucks more than sticker price.

Finding a '70 360 would be quite hard. and it would also require the BW automatic transmission or a '70 bellhousing and clutch setup for a manual.. '71-'91 360's and 401's are far easier to find and they build up the same.. lots of J10's with 360's and most any full size Wagoneer up to '91 has a 360, but they did come with 401's.

or if you want a Chevy powered Gremlin
here is a '74 for $1,000. just drop in the motor of your choice

Or if the Gremlin your interested in has a 258/ 4spd. then your in luck.. this guy will trade his 360 setup.. probably would trade the crossmember too

While working for a dealer in Sierra Vista AZ I had to prep several super eagle jeeps the came in 73's with 401's. While test driving them I found they were whimpy on HP with the compression drop compared to my 70 360 but they had gobs of torque.
