Hi there hope someone can help me with a carby problem we run a 750cfm alcohol carb in our dirt track modified it is a barry grant. Since getting it off the previous owner I never been able to get it to work even though he said he never had a problem with it, sent it to allsorts of knowalls down here N.Z but to no avail, what it does or dosent do is it wont come down under 2000 rpms without stalling I have stripped it a thousand times I cannot find any blockage it seems to be in the centre section because I can put all the BG bits on my holley and it will idle down ,so not sure if thats any help so basically I get fed up up and chuck the old holley back on and throw the BG back under bench,I relise most of you are hot rod people but hopefully someone dun a bit of dirt track racing looking forward to someone putting me out of my misery Thanks Wadey

Make sure the gasket between the main body and the base plate lines up with all the holes on each side . If someone has used the wrong gasket it can block the idle fuel passages and cause a similar condition.

Also how much fuel pressure is there at idle? How much at wot?

The fuel pressure at idle should be in the 3-5 range and if it is at 6 it will create issues with the alcohol needle and seats. Even with the sprint car pump you should be able to run a return style bypass and get the pressure down low enough.
