ground strap over thinking

Ok I might be over thinking this. I read in a mag that I need a ground strap from the firewall to the engine and an aluminum head was ok. I did the ground strap but was wondering if my black oxide studs in the block would cause a bad ground?

I have a trunk battery with it grounded to the frame. I have a ground strap from frame to block. I just installed a ground strap from firewall (brake booster bolt sandwiched to bare mettle on firewall) to the head. Does this look ok? I have had starting issues in the past due to an old alarm and a jump in the tach at 1000-1500 rpm but nothing else. I have 14.5 to 15 volts. I have my grate grandfather's 55 chevy and I don't think it ever had ground straps.

Thank you for your help,
The Tom

Ground strap

That sounds ok. If you have any doubts do a voltage drop test from the ground terminal on the battery to wherever in the system. Ideally you shouldn't see more than .2 volt while loading the circuit you're testing.
