Remove rear wheels, brakes and driveshaft and check for a rough feel when rotating pinion yoke by hand. Remove the axle shafts and inspect the shaft and bearing for pitting. Turn the pinion with axles removed and see if rough feel is eliminated. If not, its time to remvoe the diff and pinion and replace the four bearings involved.
