The vast majority of the sites on which they've posted have rules that prohibit such postings. That's the main issue here -- not the couple dozen of sites that have allowed them to post.
James also claims that he "doesn't have the time" to disprove this. Once again, I suggest that you go on to all of the forums that have busted powermelissa, and let them know how wrong they are. If indeed you are able to convince them otherwise, then I will happily alter my position. If you are exchanging goods and services for money from PowerTV, then you are a business partner of theirs. I understand you're not generating much money -- none of the admins with whom I've communicated are making much money by partnering with PowerTV. By my understanding, despite the fact that they have contracts with some of the biggest parts manufacturers in the industry, PowerTV is only sharing a tiny amount of the revenue with the admins.

I know just how simple this issue is. I don't have to prove my standpoint to anyone, unlike you, since you seem to need to prove yours to everyone.
Besides, the point you're missing is that I'm not in it to earn money. I'm in it to enjoy a "free to me" video hosting site that I can provide to my users. That is value enough. I really don't care how much money they're making. My source of income isn't the internet. This is just a hobby. |

Well, booger@MSDR, I respect your right to express your opinion in this thread. I understand that you disagree with me. If the majority of sites involved in this situation change their minds, and agree with the position that you're presenting, then I will alter my perspective, and my actions, accordingly.
Anyway, guys, check this out -- I've been compiling a list of all of the affected sites, and I came upon powermelissa's user profile on Wikipedia. It looks like she tried to write a fake "article" about PowerTV in Wikipedia. It was "speedily deleted" by a Wikipedia administrator, under Wikipedia speedy criteria for deletion, #G11: Blatant advertising. On her profile page, the administrator specifically said it was deleted "because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person".

Why wait for a majority to make up your mind for you? You're in control of THIS site. Use your time to make this one better.
You won't see Wiki making a big deal out of it. They followed their policy and deleted the post. Done, end of story. |

Booger,
From what I see, you have expressed your stance on the issue at hand over and over again in many different ways. Your posts are now to the point of just being antagonistic to the people here with different views than you. You are now wasting your time. Go back and spend time on your site and try to make it better. |

I can just see you guys sitting there sticking your fingers in your ears saying over and over again "I can't hear you"
I know it makes TOO much sense that what you guys are doing about this is pointless. Jon has even said he's not going to follow up with legal action. Since that's the case, why bother continuing this negative ad campaign. You aren't doing anything but causing trouble. The whole matter hangs on if an internet forum has a rule about exclusive advertising or not, and there's nothing you can really do either way. It's up to each forum to decide what content they want. It's not up to other forums, or businesses. At least my "tired stance" isn't a pointless waste of time, vendetta style. It's simply the truth, accept it or not. You have ZERO control over these other forums. The ones singled out have rules about exclusive advertising, so of course they'll have the same way of thinking that you do. The 80-100 or so sites that have PowerTV channels obviously don't mind the posts. It's a mute point. Some like it, some don't. It's time to get over it and move on to your next crusade. Try focusing that energy on making this sport/hobby better. |

Not my problem, I don't run Wiki, and don't be so disrespectful to call her my girlfriend. She's a married woman, and I'm married also. I'm not on here disrespecting you, so I'd appreciate it if you'd return the favor. On most sites, moderators are expected to lead by example. Is that not the case on this forum? I'm not in it for the money, unless $3 really means something to you. I haven't even collected my fortune from them because I don't feel like setting up a PayPal account. [sarcasm]So, yeah, I'm just in it for the money.[/sarcasm] |

So instead of coming up with some reason to sway me to your point, you just tell me to "go home". Yep, that's a strong argument for your side. |

Over and over and over on and on and on. You did it again. OK, OK we know your stance, we heard you. Just because I don't agree doesn't mean I had fingers in my ears. I thought your early posts in this thread were interesting. Now, I guess it's just your way or the highway. And btw, I have the opportunity here to make you better. It's moot point not mute point. |

There's no way I would ever be able to do that. I believe one way and you believe another. Some will be with you, some will be with Jon. You have spoke your piece here and that is fine. Now you are being repetitive and you are wasting your time. That's your prerogative however. No rule against it. |

On this board moderators are allowed to have an opinion and express that opinion when its necessary. Maybe on your board mods are treated differently but here we can and do speak up, especially when someone like you comes here with the sole purpose of confrontation. Your lame arguments are getting very old and you are beginning to sound like a broken record. Corral Dude got the message a couple pages ago. I guess with some people it takes longer for them to realize they're not winning friends and influencing people. Jon is too nice to do this but I'm not. Why don't you do us all a favor and stop wasting our time and Jon's bandwidth. Please go back to wherever you came from because in this moderators opinion, you're beginning to act a bit like a troll.
