You gotta learn somewhere and an older cheap car is a good place to start. That way if you screw it all up, no big loss.

Go for humor! Get one of those magnifying squares they put in the back window of motor homes. Stick it on your drivers window backward. When people pass you, they will se an ugly car and a man with a HUGE head!

I'd say break out the Coffee cans, plywood, bondo, stickers & spray paint, we're gonna make a ricer. j/k

Almost everyone has to drive a beater at one time or another while building a project, learn to be proud of your beater, make it your own.

i would put an old surf board on top, and pull off the hub caps and paint the wheels gold-- making sure to get plenty of over spray on the tires.

Character

I'm with jamnut. My first car was a pontiac 6000. It used to be a kindergarten teacher's who was in her 60's. But that thing was a TANK. I got in a few wrecks with it the first year driving and it just kept on burning oil, I mean. . . going. Builds character.

Hey you should put a pic in the Virtual Kustomz thread and see it before and after. Hehe.

Hey, it beats a bicycle. Lowered, tinted back windows, stereo action, fold down rear seat, a good drive in movie vehicle. Mothers and fathers, beware! bad thing? these cars last forever, had a salesman friend with one, had something like 300,000 miles before he traded it for another. Dan

I had one too, it was 4 wheel drive stick shift

Ratty as heck, 1,000,000,000,000,000.09 miles on it and ran like a champ on no gas at all. Paid like $2.00 and an old lawn mower that needed a battery. I put decent tires on it so it was GOOD in the snow. My first car was a 58 Ford wagon with a police interceptor in it. Real hoopty mobile but at least I had wheels, all the other kids in my High School had to ride the bus or hoof it except the rich kids and their parents bought them 64-65 Mustangs and Chevelles and VW's and I remember 1 Corvette but that was the gym teacher and she was a knockout!! Man that goes back a few decades.

Madd man, you just made my whole week!!!ROFSWLPMP! My kids really think I'm insane now, sitting at the computer giggling to myself every few minutes. Wish I would have thought of that when I had my old POS '76 Torino. (Had a 351 Modified in it tho...could move if properly coaxed. )

Chickie.
