Harbor Freight gun.. What Nozzle Size?

I bought a central pnematics #43430 HVLP gun a few days ago and I was wondering what nozzle Size it came with, they also sell 1.3 and 2.2 tips for it.

Also what size compressor do I need to paint small parts (3'x2' max) I might take it back if I need a jumbo compressor. I used it on a little one out in the shop and it sprayed ok but I just read about small compressors causing wrinkles due to too much solvent left.

The manual on the HF site says it comes with a 1.4mm tip.

The 30 gal. tank variety should be enough for what your talking about. The gun should have it's CFM requirements in the literature. So you can size the comp. accordingly. I don't recall off hand what it is but my 60 gal dosen't cycle much unless I'm doing a big shoot.
I got the 1.3 set as it was suggested for clear coat. I tried it and wasn't pleased with the coverage and went back to the 1.4 which will shoot about any paint. It will shoot primer but your coverage isn't as thick as with a 2.0.

cool,

I just noticed the 1.4mm nozzle size...grrr I looked throught twice haha

Also theres a HVLP gun there for 60 bucks and has a lower CFM req. its only 5.91 cfm at 29psi Here

Also a differnt gun but what is the nozzle on this one? I swear I checked the online manual but it just gives the input thread size, weight yada yada yada

Also any chance of other nozzles fitting this model?

This item has been discussed in depth several times on this forum. Do a search and you will find a lot of info. I love my 43430. I paint everything with it. You will need a 5hp, 10cfm@90psi compressor to run it but then you need that size compressor to run just about any good air tool. And for the umpteenth time, tank size has zero to do with determining air supply capacity. CFM rating of the compressor is the spec you need to watch for.

thanks, I wasnt sure if the information would be the same since I am painting a smaller area, I'll look into a new 5hp compressor with that CFM rating

I would also like to know if anyone has found some different nozzle sizes for the HF gun.

I don't think you'll have any problem with air as long as you're
only painting one panel at a time, I did that for years with a
3/4 hp compressor and a cheap "knock-off" gun.
But eventually you'll want more so if you can get it now go big!

Found it!!!!

I found a 2.2mm nozzle set for the HF gun #43430

http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=45395

My local HF does not have any...drats. Looks like it's what I need for heavy bodied primers.
