Harbor Freight Pneumatic Air Filter/Regulator?

Got a raincheck for a 1/2" air line filter/regulator from harbor freight since they were out when it was on sale. Was wondering if they were any good?

I have three of them. Bought as returns, for very little money. One is in the toy shop and leaks around the relief valve in the regulator, once in a while..Three guys using it regularly.
One is in my powder coat room and does well. Not a lot of use. The other is in my home garage work area, again not a lot of use anymore. But then much less costly than the forty year old DeVilbiss that the regulator finally died on.

I also have a home made filter/reg. for high volume use., in the toy shop.. Made from 4ft. length of schedule 40 and 80 PVC. Glued and screwed together. Stainless screen and holds a roll of toilet paper in one end. This baby lets no moisture thru. Good for sandblasting etc. We call it the bomb due to a problem when backyard engineering it. Ever see a 6" Pvc pipe plug propelled with 175 lbs. air pressure? Jump back Jack!!

wow. I can imagine. Anyways I ended up buying this harbor freight air filter. I forgot to look at this thread to see the opinions... but so far all is well. Haven't used it hardly tho so who knows. I got it on special. 1/2" filter/regulator combo (wanted the biggest one they made) for $19.99 AND then then they let me use a 25% off coupon on top of that so I got a $50 regulator for like $15.

Wont be any big loss I guess if it doesn't work very good...

......anything at all is better than nothing.....even an hf filter...filters are simple the only thing you need to do with the HF filters is to be sure everything is tight before you turn on the air....those 5yrs olds arent very strong and most of the hardware isnt very tight
