Hard shift after kickdown cable replacement
Hey Guys!
I just changed my kickdown cable in my 93 TA with a 700r4. I'm not a certified mechanic but I try to do most of my own work. The cable was installed and then set-up/adjusted. Now I'm having hard shifts that aren't shifting until 3000 - 3200rpm. If I take her out on the highway and stand on it, it kicks into passing gear and goes like a raped date... It was shifting hard when it was leaking fluid when the cable melted but if I topped it up to get it home or out to the shop it shifted fine untill it leaked more and then would shift hard again. There's not a drop coming out and there's 5-6 liters of fluid in it now but it's shifting late and I'm totally fresh out of ideas. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks guys! Chris |

Hard/Firm/Late shifts will occur if the TV cable is adjusted too tight. Many Aftermarket TV cables are slightly short or long & cause the factory setup method to be off. Try loosening the TV cable a click or 2 & retest.
