Harmonic Balancer Installation

I try to install my balancer using the balancer installation tool and broke the part that screws into the crank. The harmonic balancer was honed when I had my rotating assembly was balanced. As I installed the balancer it looks like the machine shop should have honed/bored about another .030-.040 for the balancer to fit tight, but allow it to be pressed on. The inside of the balancer metal has been distorted from forcing the balancer on. It's back at the machine shop now so that he can remove a little more metal.

Make sure you have the right balancer for the rotating assembly. If the i.d. is that far off, it sounds like something is very wrong.
