Has it been done before?

I'm in the process of planning a LS swap into my C3 vette. The more I read about people that have retrofit LS motors, the more I get worried. To get straight to the point...Has anyone ever heard of someone successfully putting an LS style engine in a C3 corvette?

Ls1 engines (and other engines of the same family, the 3rd generation small block) have been put in pretty much everything. There is big aftermarket support (if you know where to find it, your local speed shop may not be the best place...).
Try the LS1Tech.com forum; do a search there, read threads, ask questions, and quickly you will know everything you need to know for your swap. There really is no need to worry about your swap, it will be a bit different than a "traditional" SBC/BBC swap (mostly the electronics and fuel system), but either you can learn (and it is not that bad) or you can buy ready-made harnesses, fuel pumps... everything you need.
I am about done doing my first engine swap ever, a 6.0L truck engine (same family as an LS1) with EFI and Drive By Wire into my '70 Impala, and I could not have done it without LS1Tech.
