Have 502 - Want 632
Hi Guys,
After a while you get use to a 502 and you want to move to the next level... and I found that level - the 632 street crate from The Engine Shop Besides the issue on the cash I would like to know if anyone of you guys have any experience on this engine. Would also be happy to know if anyone knows about articles (available on the net) on this engine. I haven't been able to find much /Thomas www.anderssonbros.com |

Be sure to get the optional box of Depends adult diapers with the engine. A buddy of mine put a 632 in his 69 Camaro--with nitrous. Hoooo-Ahhh!!

holy crap thats a lot of motor...What kind of # does one of those make? A freind of mine had a camero that would crack wind shields and literally blow the T tops off of it when it launched...a full cage and major frame bracing fixed that tho.

Tom,
thanks for the input. What I am curious about is the so called 'streetability' of the Mitchell crate. I want to be able to drive 150 miles (highway type), do some cruising, do some street racing and then drive home again 150 miles - without any hazzle. The little info I have been able to collect says that is definitely OK... Thomas www.anderssonbros.com |

Thomas,
The engine will do what you want. I would recommend a 9 to1 combination with a 345cc head. Torque on this type of combo would be around 780 to 850#/ft and with a small cam would be driver friendly. I had a buddy build a 700 CID ford and put it in a 78 lincoln. Talk about a sleeper. Anyway, as I posted the oiling system is critical on these engines because of the massive stroke. Probably wont be passing any gas stations with it. Might look into dropping a multiport system on it.

632" Street Engine
We use engines of this size and bigger in marine applications all of the time. They run at Wide Open throttle for upwards of 2 hours at a time without a problem. Just make sure if you're going to do this you explain this to the engine builder BEFORE they build the engine. This will let them set the tolerences up to handle this type of heat cycle, and duration.

??? FI or carb is going to make next to no difference. If you're worried about gas milage in the least you really have no business building a 600 inch motor.

Thanks Chris,
What I had in mind is the '632 street', with alu heads. Do you suggest that there would be a concern on the oil setup on that engine? Also if you take a look at the power this combination is putting out, it's not that much considering the size - that's probably also why it is said to be streetable... Killerformula, The mileage is definitely no concern (it was a comment above from '87442lover')... Thomas www.anderssonbros.com |
