Well you see, what happened is this lil guy and a couple hundred of his friends came over from asia in shipping crates.

They decided the climate was just about right and that our pine trees were absolutely delicious so they stuck around and bred like rabbits, which leaves us with a province full of this (beetle kill)

And with all of that nice dry wood sitting around everywhere and the 30+ Celsius (86 Fahrenheit) weather we've had for the last couple weeks a small spark equals that.

and well, that just aint any good. fireworks sales and usage has been banned but luckily small camp fires are still allowed.

If you wanna know more just search mountain pine beetle. It blows, the entire city is bare of pine trees now, just had 5 taken down in our back yard a few weeks ago.

I'm up having a cold one right now. Man, east tx will be so screwed if or rather when those beetles get here..... if you don't work in a prison, your in logging..... damn.
if it ain't asian carp of some kind, or an asian mussel, it's a damn asian beetle. someone ought to say something. but i don't want to be accused of being a hater.

Happy holiday to all.

PK I understand know

We have a pine beetle here too I forget what kind plus a citrus canker fire ants & the Love bugs of as I call them Screw bugs.

too much crap swapping between countries not enuf enforcement of regulations & customs.

Also Smokey the Bear is responsible for the increase in forest fires Due to the highly successfully" put out all fires" campaigne .
Which leads to denser forest & more fuel for fires to form

Its the Humans that keep screwing up the planet.

The planet will take back what it wants to after all.

Beetle kill hit Colorado some years back, if you chopped firewood that was infested and stacked it by or near your house- good-by house. Had to cover wood with visquine tightly for one year to smother the little buggers out. We are in a drought here in Texas and fireworks are under rigid controls this year. Had a grass fire this year in the panhandle that burned roughly the size of the state of Rhode Island killing lots of cattle, people and taking homesteads. Be careful this fourth and always with the rockets etc. Hard to work on your ride with a couple digits gone. Guess I'll break out the old Hendrix album and listen to the rockets red glare. Happy birthday to our great countries!!!

Everyone have a safe and enjoyable holiday. Be careful with the fireworks! They are illegal here too, but you wouldn't know it. I think there are more here now, than there were before they outlawed them. People around here think it is 4th of July year around. Any reason is good enough to set off fireworks.

DON'T DRINK AND DRIVE.

Aaron
