I was backing my car out for the first time since a complete rebuild of the TH350 and my reverse didn't engage fully...I gunned it a few times to get it going but basically slipped...is it possible that I may have damaged the clutches doing this? I believe it may have been low on fluid but haven't checked yet...pulled it back into my garage...forward worked fine though.
I did in fact add some more transmission fluid and reverse seemed to work fine. I'm wondering if my dipstick is off by a lot. Anyway, I did manage to drive the car for the first time since the rebuild but I think there is something wrong with the valve body I modified...it didn't seem to shift properly. When I shifted into second (it's full manual) it acted like I was putting it in park, making a disturbing noise at the same time and slowing down, now I'm really worried. Luckily, I was going very slowly at the time. I'm tempted to tow it to a tranny shop and have them look at it.
