Have you used this parts supplier?

Has anyone purchased parts from Rick's First Generation
Camaro (www.firstgen.com)? I didn't see anything in the company reviews and couldn't find any info on them in
google. I need to buy parts for the front end rebuild on a 69
camaro. So far they seem to have the best price, $299 for
the kit including idler and pitman. Their return policy seems
good, I was just wondering if anyone had any experience with
them good or bad? Any other preferred suppliers?
thanks,
Mike

Hi Mike!

I probably got $2k worth of stuff from Rick's for my '67 Camaro RS. They package and ship parts out fast. Since I am in Calif., I didn't have to pay sales tax (they are in Georgia, I think). All parts are nicely wrapped. They also will give you a 10 or 15% discount if you get over $1k purchased + free shipping.

However, their shipping rates are not cheap. I guess it is the inclusion of the 'handling' fees. That's why I bought stuff from them in bulk to avoid it.

I also like the D & R Classic, http://www.drclassic.com
good packages, no sales tax (Illinois), less fees for handling. Quality of parts almost the same.

Of course, my preffered one of all is Summit (with the exception of very specific parts for my Camaro) - shipping is free (FedEx ground), gets to my place in 2 days, no sales tax and packaged to take any abuse during the transportation you can imagine.

Regards!
Denis

Hey Denis,
Thanks for the info. I'll check out D & R. I should have it pulled apart this weekend and hopefully back together the following weekend... Have a good one.

Summit are great, except for $23.95 handling on foreign orders.
If I buy a bunch of parts it isīnt so bad but if I need a small
bit it can be pricey.
Their send it back if you dont need it or change your mind policy
is perfect.
